Shop locally this Christmas

Shopping locally this Christmas is a great way of showing your support to small businesses in your area. I live in Scunthorpe, which is a small town in North Lincolnshire.
It's no secret that we don't have the best shopping experience here, often its a case of hopping on the train and going elsewhere to do our Christmas shopping.

However, if you're not one for internet shopping or getting hit in the backside with a trolley then I highly recommend visiting local Christmas craft fairs or browsing through social media (if you're an addict like me). You are sure to find something individual and quirky! Something that you might not come across in the big department stores.

I've rounded up a few of my favourite local businesses that are based in Scunthorpe. ( I will leave links below so you can have a browse at your leisure).

Homely Magic - By Vicky Herbert

If you are looking for custom made baubles and decorations for the tree then look no further than my lovely friend Vicky.  How special is the Robin bauble above? A beautiful little reminder that our loved ones are always around us, but especially at Christmas time.

P.S I cannot also recommend Vicky enough for her amazing cakes. I go to her every year for Ethan's birthday cake.

Hair by Claire

How cute are these reindeer nails above? Perfect for the whole festive season or as a special treat for yourself if you have a party to go to. Hair by Claire also do ladies and gents haircuts, colouring etc. Me and the family only ever go here! I only ever go here to have my eyebrows done too. I'm definitely going to try and squeeze myself in for a facial and a manicure once my Uni assignments have been handed in as a little treat for myself. I highly recommend a visit or treating a loved one to a voucher. The staff are so welcoming and make you feel comfortable. Just like going for a chat with your mates.

Oliviarose bow-tique - By Gemma Blackie

Every girl needs cute bows in their hair like these ones above at Christmas time. My daughter has a collection of bows from Gemma, (unfortunately she hasn't been one for being 'girly' until now due to her love of Frozen). So I'm definitely going to get Gemma to work her magic and come up with a frozen themed one for me. They are such good quality and so unique. The attention to detail is amazing! There are quite a few bow makers around, but the best definitely come from Gemma.

Gracella Sewing

Sarah at Gracella sewing is so talented. I love see what quirky little projects she comes up with next. From ice-pop holders, to reusable (environmentally friendly) sandwich bags, and gym straps to the beautiful personalised Christmas sack above. I love getting Macie's knitted scarf and gloves from Sarah. Which reminds me I need to put in another order very soon now that the weather has took a bad turn! Go check her out!

Nicoles Scentsy delights - Independant Scentsy consultant

I used to be a Scentsy Consultant in the past and I've recently just discovered a new love for it. I bought a few wax bars from Nicole and I've often had comments on how nice the house smells when people pay me a visit. I've currently been warming Gingerbread, coffee, and coconut type scents. Can you see a pattern here? There is also a great section for kids. The Olaf scent buddy above has just been released and I know my daughter would love it as she's Frozen mad!.
An oldie but Goldie scent and one of my absolute favourites is 'newborn nursery'! If you love the smell of talcum powder then this one is for you!

So there you have it. I hope I have inspired you to shop locally this Christmas and check out all of the lovely ladies above to see what else they have in store.

See you tomorrow.
